It is our intention to provide an environment in which children, parents and staff are safe from images being recorded and inappropriately used.

Camera and Video Cameras
Photographs are used extensively throughout Rose Buddies Childcare for a variety of purposes.
Photographs are used for a number of purposes but generally to capture a particular experience or something that the child has achieved. In addition we may use photographs for a child’s learning journey and for classroom displays and displays around the nursery. Only the nursery cameras on Nursery phones and tablets are to be used in taking photographs and each device is strictly kept at the premises and regularly checked and cleared by the management team. Only children whose parents have given written permission will have their photograph taken and used within the nursery. Additionally, parents sign permission in their contracts to allow the nursery to use their child’s photos on their website and for marketing purposes.

The printing of the images is to be done on the nursery premises by one of the nursery computers. All photographs on the computer or memory card will be wiped clear at the end of every upload.
All images taken must be deemed suitable without putting the child in any compromising positions that could cause embarrassment or distress.

Under no circumstances will a camera be allowed into the bathroom areas unless a member of the management team is present. For example, if you would like photos of the children washing their hands and using soap / dryer, a member of the management team must be present. Parents are NOT permitted to take photographs on the nursery premises without management permission.
Parents / Visitors are not permitted to have a camera or mobile phone out whilst on Rose Buddies Childcare premises and if a camera or mobile phone is visible on a parent they are immediately challenged by staff to put it away.

Mobile phones.
The nursery allows staff to bring in personal mobile phones for their own use on their lunch breaks. All staff must ensure that their mobile phone is left in the office and signed in and out. Mobile phones are not to be used in any rooms that the children access at any time and must NEVER be used to take photographs of other staff members, parents or children. Whilst on an outing with the children’s mobile phones must stay in the work safe and the work mobiles must be taken. Failure to adhere to any of the above will be taken very seriously, logged and investigated appropriately and disciplinary action may occur.
