Once ready babies transition up to our 2 year old room, Tulip room. This room is loosely modelled after the poppy room incorporating key aspects such as the soft play, sand area and sensory play to allow for a familiar and smooth transition but also incorporates additional resources better suited to 2 year olds. . 

 

Our Curriculum within this room is slightly more structured, continuing to encourage freedom of exploration while adding new challenges more suitable to children's ages. Focus activities are planned to support children's next steps and communication. Language and emotional regulation hold a high focus within Tulip room. 

 

Our 2 year olds show more independence and are welcomed in and encouraged and supported to put their belongings away and are always eager to welcome their friends as they arrive. Children have incredible bonds with the staff in Tulip room and begin to build strong relationships with their peers at this age.

There is a maximum of 10 children at one time which again prevents the younger children being too overwhelmed. They have a changing room with a toilet so toilet training can be encouraged and supported.

This room has the benefit of a small soft play area sectioned off so children are able to access this in small groups to work on their physical development. It also allows for staff to take children into a separate area if a child needs some one to one support.
