It is our intention to make Rose Buddies Childcare accessible to all children and families from all sections of our community.

Aim:

We aim to ensure that our community have access to our nursery through open, fair and clearly communicated procedures.

Method:

In order to achieve this aim, we operate the following admissions policy.

  • We ensure that the existence of our nursery is widely advertised in places accessible to all sections of the community.

  • We ensure that information about our nursery is accessible - in written and spoken form - and, where appropriate, in different languages. Where necessary, we will try to provide information in Braille, or through signing or an interpreter.

  • Whilst arranging our waiting list we may take into account the following:

    1. siblings already attending the nursery.

    2. length of time on the waiting list

    3. whether a child is attending another setting

  • The nursery is open to every family in the community.

  • The nursery adhere to Ofsted spacial requirements dependent on the ages of the children.

  • Children are admitted from birth to 11 years, dependent upon the availability of space, and readiness of the individual child to stay happily within the setting.

  • Children may attend Rose Buddies Childcare for between 1 and 5 days per week, and we provide set sessions between the hours of 7am and 7pm with flexibility to extend hours where needed.

  • We welcome children regardless of their gender, special educational needs, disabilities, background, religion, ethnicity or competence in spoken English. We will liaise fully with parents and professionals to ensure that it would be in the child’s best interests to attend the setting. We ensure we can meet a child’s needs before admitting them in order for them to reach their full potential. This means that if additional support is needed a child’s start date may be held until adequate support can be put in place.

  • Parents/carers are encouraged to visit with their child shortly before admission is due (see Settling in and Transition policies).

  • Statutory Nursery Education Grants are available for children who are eligible.

  • If a child is to leave our setting before moving on to school / another setting, or to reduce the number of sessions attended, parents must give at least 6 weeks notice of the leaving date in writing. Fees will be payable (or grant claimed by us), until that date. If the notice period is shorter than the current term then the notice period will be until the end of the term.

  • Our Equal Opportunities Policy is listed on the website and available in our Policy Folder.

  • We are flexible about attendance patterns and wherever possible accommodate the needs of individual children and families.

  • We reserve the right to terminate a contract / refuse admission if we feel parents / carers have conducted themselves in an unprofessional or threatening manner where we foresee the admission having a negative impact on our children or staff.

Admissions Process

  • When a parent calls to enquire about a place, a parent pack is sent by post or email. Or a copy of the parent pack is given out during their first visit to the Nursery.

  • When a parent comes to view the nursery a member of the senior team takes them on a tour of the whole nursery. All visitors are required to read our safeguarding poster and sign in on our visitors record.

  • Information about each room and the aims and goals of the nursery are discussed.

  • During the visit there is a chance for the parents / carers to ask any questions or raise any queries.

  • When a parent/carer wishes to enrol the child/ren at our nursery, a registration form will need to be completed. This form asks for information on the child regarding their personal information such as, emergency contact numbers, allergies, medical conditions, and immunisations, and any other relevant information.

  • A copy of the child’s birth certificate will be requested.

  • Places are only allocated upon receipt of a registration form

  • Places are offered on a first come, first serve basis in accordance with available sessions.

  • The parent/carers will then receive a letter of confirmation. This letter informs the parents of any deposit that may be required for non-funded places

  • The child and parent/carer will be invited for settling in sessions. (see settling in policy) and attendance patterns will be agreed.
